Seemingly unrelated, the characters come together and fall apart in unexpected, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes humorous ways. What can they find in common, and what will tear them apart? With stunning performances by Fiberso Knitting, Yarnathan Weaver, and Braidy String. Directed by the four time Mosher Award winner Alana Tivnan. "The theme is one of appreciating a sequence of motions, that speak eloquently for themselves. It is yarn for yarn's sake. The beauty is found in the lack of underlying meaning. You make the meaning your own." </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Coming soon to Tower cinemas.</span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6036367641659157493.post-57300500072385413922011-12-05T20:27:00.002-07:002011-12-05T20:57:47.763-07:00whole food vs. fast food stop motionDon't miss this year's most thrillingly quirky stop motion animation film, by the little-known director Tiernan Warner. In this battle of epic proportions, the "whole" foods and the "fast" fight tooth and nail over the ownership of the kitchen. Warner makes a poignant statement concerning the overwhelming prevalence of junk food in America, through her silly storyline. Who will win the kitchen? Well, you will have to wait to find out--until it comes to VHS at a Blockbuster near you.<div><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzbuJDvnIOCvx0wRj4T7xMYE3Tk-1LjumzEEzP_S5cDreHjE3yXdQFXzvJzIQvNIOZ8MMnXk96mpMvnxW2_Jw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>(tiernan)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10474374201556010878noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6036367641659157493.post-77629654040110699952011-12-05T16:32:00.002-07:002012-03-19T20:17:44.198-07:00<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxZsMDSv0ZDK9y0IfvEMR2FUG9XFie7IjfJTmB5KpiAmiBqROxq1lgs-EJyasUmNzgfapmJ2WFaTu_fMIHZ' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /> <style> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Cambria; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:3 0 0 0 1 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ascii-font-family:Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:Cambria; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style> <p class="MsoNormal">Many people see all guns and bullets in the same way. Since aluminum cans often call to mind recycling and the reuse of objects that could be thrown away, and hanging clothes up to dry rather than using a drier all the time both reference how an artist or designer can connect the materials they use with the actual processes of the conservation movement going on around them. In a world where the push to be green is a constant thing, reusing materials may be very relevant for some artists. The choice to have the cans portray becoming stars that hang up on the clothesline to light the night sky is one of aesthetics, the shiny surface of the cans and their slight movements bring to mind the twinkling of the stars.<br /><br />http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vwm3AuOUslI<br /><br /><br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxRZaTUlmFjloa3Gp-A5Mylv4BJBQFNJMORrUQbYY6_asg6sZW9Lu91AuZsuw3iZjnk5LKCWkc8CwVZ9EeZ5A' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Ximenna Hofsetzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11955872078512837140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6036367641659157493.post-65886239563623488212011-12-05T16:06:00.000-07:002011-12-05T16:12:11.806-07:00<a href="http://http//youtu.be/srxp25AWUlA?hd=1">http://http://youtu.be/srxp25AWUlA?hd=1</a>Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627809267277201920noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6036367641659157493.post-54288163761954794562011-12-05T14:29:00.002-07:002012-03-19T20:17:44.171-07:00Shannon Gomillion Stop MotionEducation has become something that officials control with money. It used to be held high in the worlds eyes, but whenever the government needs more money, it seems like the cuts are always to education. The students try to get what they can trusting that their education would be cared for and protected by the government and officials, but the truth is that it is not. Education has become so corrupt that the money hungry take all that they can and it overwhelms students. <br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxkycbYxYF-WvyccWurQoIhC7acBVEZTn9bEsMYHQiRnLOj9A-OnCCVY-y9Assv9bVbG5TIMdSw4vv_Dq0-Tw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Shannon Ghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09508397221818381438noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6036367641659157493.post-73493224776798375292011-12-05T12:21:00.004-07:002011-12-05T16:05:40.828-07:00Recycled Fashion<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qr21bDO3m40" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><div><br /><div>What most people may not realize is that fashion doesn't always have to do with clothes. Fashion can be defined as a popular trend, prevailing custom, or conventional usage in dress, etiquette, socializing, etc. This short stop motion animation film, "Recycled Fashion", is here to promote a new fashion, the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Not enough people take the time to follow the 3 R's even if they are aware of how much it could help the earth. If you bring your own bags with you when you shop, you can reduce<b> </b>your waste. You can reinvent cothing that you would otherwise throw away which is a way to reuse, and recycle. With the help of music artist, Jack Johnson's song "The 3 R's" watch as the usage of recyclable items transforms into a cute and fun recycled fashion look! In the film, <i>Too Much of a Good Thing</i> directed and produced by Larann Persons, she explores the representation of what consumerism does using the theme of Christmas. It builds you up and looks good in small quantities. However, when there is a never ending supply, where do we draw the line? Have we lost what this time of year is truly about? This question is left to us...what matters most in our lives? Starring in this magical movie is the world renown Small Cloud Nine, Big Cloud Ten and the musical styling of Ben Acri. This short film is a commentary on how music has the ability to make even the dimmest situations seem vivid and bright. Some days just don’t go as planned and are filled with one horrible event after another. “Music & Material Things” illustrates that despite all of the gloom, music can still bring out the sunshine. “Music and Material Things” will be premiering in the Tower Building/Room 121 on Monday, December 4th, 2011 for an exclusive one night only showing. This viewing is free and open to the public. <br />
For stop motion try: <a href="http://www.fourchambers.org/fcs_stop_motion_animation_software.php">http://www.fourchambers.org/fcs_stop_motion_animation_software.php</a><br />
<br />
And for video editing try: <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=34">http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=34</a><br />
<br />
Please understand that, as a mac, I have not used either of these, but they look pretty straight forward. If you've got a PC laptop, bring it on Wednesday and we can play around with this software.<br />
<br />
UPDATE: That stop motion software doesn't seem to work with photos you have already taken, but windows movie maker might. Try setting the duration od each imported photo to 0.125s.<br />
