"Insane Nesbitt"

"Insane Nesbitt"

After hearing about the world of "Shop Dropping", i was convinced that it would be my newfound hobby. The longer i searched for the perfect toy to demolish however, the more difficult the task became. Originally i wanted to incorporate the Barbie doll into my project, but decided against it due to the popularity and context associated with such a world renowned toy. Picking a Buzz Lightyear action figure was my choice to think outside of the box and away from what normally might be focused on. For my piece i decided to change a talking Buzz Lightyear action figure toy into his crazy alter-ego, Mrs. Nesbitt from the movie Toy Story. I chose to reflect the crazy persona of Buzz Lightyear to reflect how we view the mentally stable in our society. We do not completely accept "insane" toys in our stores just as we do not always accept the unstable in our society. When seen with a conflict of instability, we send people away to get "fixed" just as we send our toys that do not match our views. I made the concious decision to display Buzz Lightyear in the girls section to display his new state of mind. Hilarity and wonder is sure to ensue as different walks of life, looking for their perfect toy will wander down the girl's toy section to find Buzz Lightyear, arm detached, ready for tea time.
