Upon researching ritual ceremonies for our group project I found the Mandala making ritual quite interesting. This ritual is performed in Hindu and Buddhist cultures. Mandala is a circular or made out of concentric diagrams. Made delicately out of sand, these Mandalas are used in forms of meditation, as teaching tools and as a dedicated sacred space. The monks/ artists who create these masterpieces over a matter of a few days or weeks. The Mandalas are used as a metaphysical outlet for explaining the universe. After finishing the Mandala it is meditated on an then strategically all destroyed and and sand is then poured into flowing water.
